Design Your Own Patchwork Hoodie — Two-Session Class, October 5 & 19

Take a plain hoodie and make it yours. Across two evenings you will design and build patchwork sleeves and a patchwork pocket, then rebuild them into a hoodie you will actually reach for — the kind of piece people stop you about.

First evening, October 5 is prep and demonstration. You will choose the fabrics for your sleeves and pocket, and Lorrie will walk you through how the piecing goes together, how to take your hoodie apart, and how to quilt your panels — so you can see every step done before you try it.

Second evening, October 19 is construction. Bring what you have prepared and put it all back together into a finished hoodie.

The two weeks in between are yours to work at your own pace, with the demo fresh in your mind and the shop a phone call away if you get stuck.

This is a genuinely beginner-friendly class. Piecing straight strips is one of the easiest things to do well on a sewing machine, and because you are working with a hoodie you bought rather than cutting into expensive yardage, the stakes are low and the payoff is high.

What to bring

A hooded sweatshirt — and buy it one size up from your usual. Quilting the pieced panels takes up room, and the finished hoodie will fit closer than the one you started with. Pick a color you want to build your fabrics around.

Your sewing machine in good working order, or use a shop machine at no extra charge. Your usual sewing supplies: scissors, pins, seam ripper, and thread. Fabric for the sleeves and pocket can be pulled here, and we are glad to help you choose.

Skill level: Beginner. No patchwork or garment experience needed.

Please note: this is one class across two evenings, and your registration covers both.

Registration & Cancellation

Seats are limited to 6 so everyone gets hands-on time, and we need at least 3 registered for a class to run. Your seat is confirmed once payment is received.

To cancel, call the shop at 501-205-1975 during business hours or email create@seamssewcrazy.com. Notice is counted from when we receive your call or email — please don't cancel through social media, since we may not see it in time.

• 7+ days before class — full refund to your original payment method.
• Fewer than 7 days — store credit for the full amount, good on anything in the shop. You're also welcome to send someone in your place; just call and give us their name.
• No-shows without notice are not eligible for a refund or credit.
• If we cancel for low enrollment or weather — full refund, or move your seat to the next session, your choice.
• If a class fills, call and ask to be added to the waiting list. When we have three waiting, we add a second session.
