Beginner Garment Sewing: The Scout Tee — Two-Day Class, October 23 & 24

Two days, one finished top, and the confidence to sew your own clothes. The Scout Tee is the pattern we recommend to everyone starting garment sewing — a simple woven tee with a clean neckline and no closures to wrestle with, which means you spend your time learning technique instead of fighting hardware.

Over two days Melinda takes you through the whole process without rushing: choosing your size from actual measurements, adjusting the pattern to fit your body, laying out and cutting with the grain, staystitching, setting the sleeves, finishing the neckline with bias binding, and hemming. These are the fundamentals underneath every garment pattern you will ever pick up.

You leave with a top you can wear and a pattern you can make again in a weekend.

What to bring: your sewing machine in good working order, or use a shop machine at no extra charge. Fabric, pattern, and notions list will be sent when you register — we can help you choose fabric in the shop if you would like a hand.

Skill level: Beginner. No garment sewing experience needed.

Please note: this is one class across two days, and your registration covers both. We stay open past our usual Saturday closing time for day two.

Registration & Cancellation

Seats are limited to 6 so everyone gets hands-on time, and we need at least 3 registered for a class to run. Your seat is confirmed once payment is received.

To cancel, call the shop at 501-205-1975 during business hours or email create@seamssewcrazy.com. Notice is counted from when we receive your call or email — please don't cancel through social media, since we may not see it in time.

• 7+ days before class — full refund to your original payment method.
• Fewer than 7 days — store credit for the full amount, good on anything in the shop. You're also welcome to send someone in your place; just call and give us their name.
• No-shows without notice are not eligible for a refund or credit.
• If we cancel for low enrollment or weather — full refund, or move your seat to the next session, your choice.
• If a class fills, call and ask to be added to the waiting list. When we have three waiting, we add a second session.
